Tips for Finding The Beauty In Nature

This week I decided to post some inspiring nature quotes on Facebook. I am a true nature lover and I appreciate it's beauty. I go outside everyday and it is such a joyful feeling. Best of all, It's FREE! When I am able to slow down, stop and admire, it's very satisfying. I also garden and compost to try and give back a little. My daughter also helps me garden. It's an invaluable lesson that I can teach her to be kind to the earth and enjoy its beauty.

Here are some ways to enjoy nature:

Watch the sunrise and sunset.
Look at the moon and stars.
Go barefoot.
Plant something. Watch it grow.
Watch the clouds roll by.
Lay in the grass.
Enjoy the sunlight on your skin. (in moderation, with sunscreen)
Pick wildflowers and put them in a vase.
Listen to a stream and watch the sunlight reflect on the water.
Play in the rain.
Watch ants.
Go fishing.
Take a nature walk.
Identify flowers and trees.
Listen to the frogs peep at night.

Nature is really good medicine. Enjoy it. Take care of it. Educate about it.

Here are some nature quotes I found on Pinterest.

Enjoy your week!

Matilda Jane $50 Gift Card Giveaway

Hosted By:  The Binder Ladies

In a world of unrealistic expectations, ridiculous restrictions and criticized creativity, it's refreshing when our little girls can just be little girls.  They can be free to be themselves for such a short time, before social pressures take effect.  Matilda Jane Clothing embraces this time and believes that the life of a little girl is whimsical. It's majestic, it's silly, energetic, giggly and stylish.  Matilda Jane Clothing takes all of the best qualities in being a little girl, and wraps those ideals into their clothing.  It's about patterns, textures, colors and styles - then jumbling them all up to create something unique and beautiful - just like every young lady that wears them!  With new styles being created twice a year, Matilda Jane clothing gives a fresh approach to getting dressed everyday.  We think of Matilda Jane as being a classier, more modern Pippi Longstocking sort of style!  Jen from The Binder Ladies was able to review 2 outfits from the newest collection - It's A Wonderful Parade.  Check out the entire review and fun pictures HERE!

Go Fly A Kite The Easy Way

This evening was windy enough for flying kites! We were all so excited to go.
I remember going with my dad when I was little and they were always so far up. Well, now I
remember why! My dad used a little trick!

First, lets meet my Dad. Hi Dad!

I certainly need to take more pictures of him!

Even though he has no idea what a blog is, he is always
finding life hacks that will never seize to amaze me!

When I tried to explain to him why I wanted the kite picture(below), he had no idea.
I told him I was going to Instagram it and he said, "insta-what it!"

Enough already! Let's see this kite trick...

So there you have it. Another great Dad moment to remember!
We had our kites so far up that we could hardly see them!

What is one of the greatest life hacks you were taught from someone in your family?

Autism Awareness Month Giveaway

Autism Awareness Month Giveaway

Educate Support Advocate

Autism Awareness Button

Autism awareness is something that is near and dear to my heart. Every year thousands of children are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and forms of it such as Asperger Syndrome. There has yet to be found a definite cause.

April is Autism Awareness Month. It's a time that we can support someone or families of individuals with Autism. Educate others on Autism awareness. Advocate for individuals who are on the Autism spectrum. AutismSpeaks.org gives an abundance of information such as this:
Autism statistics from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) identify around 1 in 68 American children as on the autism spectrum–a ten-fold increase in prevalence in 40 years. Careful research shows that this increase is only partly explained by improved diagnosis and awareness. Studies also show that autism is four to five times more common among boys than girls. An estimated 1 out of 42 boys and 1 in 189 girls are diagnosed with autism in the United States.
A group of us have gotten together to spread the word about Autism Awareness and we'd like you to do the same. To promote Autism Awareness Month we're giving away the items below.

Prize 1: $25 Amazon.com Gift Card

Prize 2: Autism Awareness Gift Pack
